## Description

Monifieth Gala is a community-organised annual event that brings together people of all ages and interests for a lively day of celebration. Established in response to the need for a large local gathering, the Gala draws inspiration from St Rules Fair, also known as Trewell’s Fair, a traditional fair held when Monifieth was a young settlement. That historic event offered food and goods for sale alongside entertainment; today’s Gala carries forward the spirit of the fair in a contemporary, family-friendly setting.

The programme features music and dance, crafts and entertainment, as well as re-enactment and living-history activities, including contributions from the Knights of Monymusk. The event takes place at Riverview Park, with the next Gala scheduled for Sunday, 26 July 2026. The organisers describe the 2025 event as a great success and acknowledge the support of local businesses, community groups and other sponsors, whose generosity helps make the gathering possible.
