## Description

Monserrat Pons i Boscana is the proud owner of Son Mut Nou, a unique estate located in Llucmajor, Mallorca, dedicated to the conservation and study of fig tree genetic resources. This remarkable farm hosts a collection of 2,834 fig trees, preserving 1,308 distinct varieties, with a focus on recovering ancient at-risk varieties and discovering new ones. Situated in the rugged Marina de Llucmajor, Son Mut Nou's landscape is characterized by its dry, clay-rich soil and a rich biodiversity.

Monserrat, a pharmacist with a passion for fig trees, has created a pioneering experimental field aimed at promoting scientific knowledge, cultural traditions, and ecological sustainability surrounding figs. The estate serves as a beautiful homage to agricultural heritage, wherein visitors can explore the serene fields and enjoy the culinary delights derived from the figs. Monserrat Pons i Boscana also offers a book, Las Higueras de las Islas Baleares, detailing the farm's efforts and fig cultivation for those interested in diving deeper into this enchanting world.
