## Description

Montpellier Judo Olympic (MJO) is a judo club founded in 2013 by Christel and Zahia. Based in Montpellier and affiliated with the French Judo Federation (FFJDA), it has grown from 140 members to more than 600 and holds a gold label. The club offers daily judo classes for children from age three, adults, competitors and recreational participants, along with physical preparation training and women’s self-defence. Members can attend between one and five sessions per week with an annual membership.

MJO combines competitive sport with education and community support. It helps young people prepare for professional qualifications in sport and supports children and teenagers in Celleneuve, Petit Bard and Mosson throughout their educational, sporting and professional journeys. Its athletes compete at regional, national and international levels. In 2024, the club placed seventh in the Champions League and third with its junior women’s team in the French first division team championship; in 2025, its senior men’s team reached seventh place in the French first division.
