## Description

The Montreal Gongfu Research Center is a member school of the North American Tang Shou Tao Association, founded by Ethan Murchie. Based in Montreal, it offers classes and opportunities for in-depth study of traditional Chinese physical culture and medicine, following the footsteps of established traditions. Its Gongfu School focuses on three internal arts of northern China: xingyiquan, baguazhang and taijiquan. Through their practice and study, students work to build health and cultivate wisdom and understanding.

The Center also provides Tuina training, including foundational study, continuing education and professional certification. Its Tuina method is presented as a bodywork approach used in primary care to address acute and chronic injuries, pain, illness and other conditions. Seminars serve acupuncturists, massage therapists and Western-trained professionals seeking to explore Chinese medicine and expand their clinical skills.

Through the associated Gongfu Clinic, the Center offers acupuncture, Tuina, moxibustion, cupping, cranial sacral therapy and Chinese medicinal herbs. The clinic’s stated mission is to promote health, improve quality of life and reduce suffering through Chinese medicine techniques.
