## Description

The Montreal Highland Games and Festival is an annual celebration organized by the Montreal Highland Games Society, bringing together Montrealers of all backgrounds to experience Scottish sport, music and culture. Held on the grounds of Douglas Hospital in Verdun, Quebec, the festival offers participants and visitors an opportunity to explore Scotland’s history and traditions. Its competitions include Scottish athletics, pipe bands, Highland dancing and tug of war, while attractions range from a Family Village and rugby clinic to historical fencing, a Ceilidh Tent and a Fiddlers’ Tent. Visitors can also discover clan and community organizations and browse concessions and vendor offerings. Festival week features additional events, including the Promenade of Cabers and the Wee Ceilidh, with live Scottish music and dancing. The organization also shares festival information, photos and opportunities for volunteers, pipe bands, vendors and community groups to take part. The 2027 Montreal Highland Games and Festival is scheduled for August 1, continuing the Society’s work of celebrating Scottish traditions in Montreal.
