## Description

Monttu Ventures is a student-led venture capital company based in the Turku region, established in 2017. It supports early-stage startups founded by people with a background at the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences, or Novia University of Applied Sciences. The company aims to be the first external investor for promising academic ventures, offering investments of up to €25,000 per company.

Beyond funding, Monttu Ventures helps founders develop their businesses by sharing knowledge, practical resources, market expertise, and professional contacts drawn from its shareholders. It also acts as a sounding board for startup teams and recommends that suitable companies consider combining its investment with Business Finland’s Tempo funding. Monttu looks for teams with a Turku-area university connection, a credible and scalable business model, committed members with complementary skills, and an intellectual property strategy. Founders with a startup or business idea can contact the deal flow team to discuss their venture and explore whether Monttu Ventures can help.
