## Description

MormonLeaks is an independent research project examining the origins of the Mormon canon and the historical development of its scriptures. Its contributors use computational methods, including stylometric and authorship-classification tools, alongside historical records to investigate how the texts may have been written and edited. The project presents a naturalistic account that considers possible contributions from Joseph Smith Jr., Sidney Rigdon, Oliver Cowdery, Parley Pratt, and other writers, as well as biblical and contemporary literary sources. It also explores the narrative structure of the Book of Mormon and reports concerning authorship, plagiarism, and the Solomon Spalding manuscript.

MormonLeaks shares its research primarily through an eight-part, slideshow-style series, supported by articles, comparisons, research methods, and reference materials. Its website also features news and commentary on topics such as scriptural chronology, the lost 116 pages, and the relationship between the Book of Mormon and The Late War. The project is volunteer-run, welcomes corrections and additional information, and invites public contributions to support its continued work.
