## Description

Welcome to Morrab Library, an independent library established in 1818 and located in the beautiful Morrab Gardens, Penzance. As the only independent library in Cornwall, Morrab Library holds a special place in the region. With over 70,000 volumes, it is one of the largest libraries in the United Kingdom and offers an extensive range of literature, history, biography, antiquities, poetry, art, and travel. The library is home to remarkable collections, including an extensive Cornish collection housed in the Jenner Room, over a century of Cornish newspapers, unique archives with papers and diaries relating to the history of Penwith and beyond, a collection of 3,000 Napoleonic ephemera and memorabilia, and a digital photographic archive with over 15,000 prints and negatives. Morrab Library is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and as a registered charity, it relies on the support and generosity of its library community.
