## Description

Wellcome is a global charitable foundation working to create a healthier future for everyone by helping science improve health and save lives. It supports discovery research into life, health and wellbeing and focuses on three worldwide challenges: mental health, infectious diseases, and climate and health. Through research funding, Wellcome backs work across countries and disciplines, offering funding opportunities, application guidance and grant support. Its wider programmes bring together researchers, communities, governments and partners to promote evidence-based health policies and develop equitable solutions. Wellcome also shares research and public perspectives through reports, articles, podcasts, newsletters and the Wellcome Global Monitor, a large international study of attitudes to science and health. Its activities include advocacy, engagement, and initiatives such as Science Policy Labs. The foundation’s public-facing work includes Wellcome Collection, a free museum and library in London exploring health and human experience, and the Wellcome Photography Prize, which highlights visual stories about health and science.
