## Description

MOSTHistory is a brand dedicated to preserving and presenting the rich heritage of South Texas and Northeastern Mexico. For almost 40 years, this museum has chronicled the history of the region through its fascinating exhibits. From prehistoric plants and animal fossils to exhibits on native people and European colonization, visitors can explore the diverse past of this borderland. One of the museum's highlights is the 1910 Jail, which was lovingly preserved as an important part of the museum. In 2003, a $5.5 million expansion added a 22,500 square foot wing, housing the Museum Store, Grand Lobby, and permanent exhibits. Notably, the introduction of the Rio Grande Legacy exhibit sequence takes visitors on a journey through the region's prehistory and history. Thanks to the support of donors and FRIENDS, the Museum of South Texas History can continue its mission of presenting the unique heritage of the region. Plan your visit today to explore this captivating museum and experience the borderland's history come to life.
