## Description

Mosticare is a mission-driven, Estonia-registered non-profit association working to protect people from mosquito-borne disease without harming the ecosystems around them. Guided by the principle “Primum non nocere” (“First, do no harm”), the organisation combines honest public information, research, and real-time threat surveillance to help people understand risks and make informed choices.

Mosticare’s work spans a research hub, an atlas and threat map, news and scientific resources, and practical guidance on travel, household health, mosquito species, and related diseases. It also offers long-lasting insecticidal nets designed as physical barriers. The nets use permethrin bound into the fabric, are described as EU biocidal-products-regulation authorised, and are tested against WHO target entomological endpoints. Mosticare states that its nets are intended to provide protection for at least three years, while acknowledging that nets do not replace environmental control.

The foundation challenges ineffective or harmful approaches, including indoor insecticide smoke and unverified marketplace nets. Its aim is to reduce disease risk through evidence-led protection, transparent communication, and care for both human and environmental health.
