## Description

MotherStruck is a dramatic, humorous story about poet and activist Staceyann Chin’s journey to become a mother as a single lesbian. Adapted from Chin’s autobiographical solo theater piece, the series follows her search for a sperm donor and the emotional and practical challenges of pursuing parenthood, including fertility treatment and financial strain. Her close friends Marta, Gina, and Nina offer companionship, advice, humor, and support as she navigates an unconventional path to family.

Created and co-written by Chin and Micaela Birmingham, MotherStruck brings Chin’s personal story to the screen, with Chin playing herself. The original stage production was directed by Cynthia Nixon and produced by Rosie O’Donnell. The series features performances by Laura Gómez, Gina Yashere, and Janine Brito. Through an intimate blend of comedy and candid storytelling, MotherStruck explores friendship, queer family-making, and the different routes to motherhood. The brand’s online presence shares information about the story, characters, and creators, alongside a trailer, press coverage, and options to buy tickets.
