## Description

MotoRecord is an international motorcycling and mountaineering project focused on combining extreme motorcycle riding with high-altitude exploration and teamwork. Its best-known achievement was an expedition to Ojos del Salado, a volcano on the Chile–Argentina border in the Atacama region. Led by Roland Hess, the international team officially broke the previous record for the highest altitude reached by a motorcycle, an accomplishment featured in the 2010 Guinness World Records book.

The expedition brought together specialist training in trial riding and mountaineering, supported by organizations and individuals including Honda Motors Chile, GPS Aventura, the Swiss Embassy and HRC. Riders and motorcycles faced severe conditions, including temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius, limited oxygen and strong winds. Independent witnesses monitored the attempt, which followed environmental-protection guidelines.

MotoRecord’s website documents the record, the team’s story and the Atacama Desert, and shares related news and video. The team has also described plans to improve motorcycle fuel-injection engineering in pursuit of a stronger future result.
