## Description

Mount Washington Observatory is a renowned nonprofit institution dedicated to advancing our understanding of Earth's weather and climate systems. Situated on the summit of Mount Washington, it operates a vital weather station that has been continuously staffed since its inception. The dedicated crews live on the summit for a week at a time, collecting hourly weather observations, conducting groundbreaking research, and providing comprehensive educational programs. The observatory's weather observations are essential for national forecasting models and regional reports, while its team of scientists produces specialized forecasts for the White Mountains and surrounding areas. With a climate record dating back to its establishment, Mount Washington Observatory maintains one of North America's longest continuous climate datasets. In addition to weather observation, the observatory collaborates with universities, governmental agencies, and private companies on cutting-edge research projects. Its high-altitude location and state-of-the-art facility make it an ideal benchmark research station. Furthermore, Mount Washington Observatory is a leader in weather and climate education, offering classroom programs, distance learning initiatives, museum workshops, and trips to its unique science museum, Extreme Mount Washington. Through its various endeavors, the observatory aims to connect the public with the wonders of the natural world, fostering a passion for science, mountains, and the outdoors. As a prominent voice in the field of extreme weather, Mount Washington Observatory reaches millions through its website, daily radio reports, national media exposure, strategic partnerships with outdoor industry leaders, and extensive educational outreach efforts. To support its mission and initiatives, consider making a tax-deductible donation to Mount Washington Observatory. Your contribution directly supports their vital research and educational programs. Join them in their endeavor to deepen our understanding of Earth's climate and weather patterns.
