Fundación Ciudadana de Movilidad y Seguridad Vial, also known as MOVIDANA, is a non-profit citizen organization dedicated to promoting and developing projects, programs, and policies for road safety and secure mobility in Ecuador. Our aim is to reduce the number of fatalities and severe injuries caused by road accidents to zero, and we advocate for the implementation of the Safe System Approach by the national and local governments, as promoted by the United Nations in the context of the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030. We strive to create a culture of safe, accessible, and sustainable road usage, where government bodies, academia, NGOs, and civil society collaborate to safeguard the lives of Ecuadorian citizens. We also work towards inclusive mobility, supporting the design of barrier-free cities that ensure the safe usage of roads by all users, especially pedestrians, persons with disabilities, and cyclists. Additionally, we contribute to evidence-based decision-making by gathering and processing data related to mobility and road safety. Through collaborative networks and partnerships with national and international organizations and institutions, we promote the strengthening and advancement of road safety policies and projects. We advocate for the right of all road users to safely and accessibly utilize public spaces in the city, promoting safe behaviors and the construction of infrastructure that prioritizes life.
