## Description

Partido da Terra (MPT) is a Portuguese ecologist political party founded in 1993. Its political vision centres on sustainability, quality of life, and respect for Portugal’s territory, with a stated commitment to protecting the interests of future generations. The party describes its approach through four pillars: sustainability, territory, citizenship, and the future. Its priorities include protecting soil, water, and air; reducing pollution and restoring natural environments; and promoting land-use planning that respects landscapes, history, and local ways of life. The MPT also advocates local democracy, giving communities, associations, and citizens a stronger voice, alongside investment in science and education and policies designed for the long term. The party shares its positions through news, public statements, opinion articles, election programmes, and media appearances. It also invites people to join, support campaigns focused on territory, and take part in political decisions. Based in Lisbon, the MPT maintains national structures and provides information about its leadership, values, activities, and elected representatives.
