## Description

Mr. Tamil Canada (MTC) is a Canadian awareness-raising organization established in 2018 to promote the health and wellbeing of South Asian men, with a particular focus on mental health. Founded in response to rising suicide rates among Tamil men, MTC works to challenge stigma, encourage open discussion of issues often treated as taboo, and support recovery and resilience. Its activities include public events and partnerships with organizations that provide direct health support. In 2019, MTC launched an audience-attended show featuring the first Tamil men’s pageant, creating a platform for men to embrace themselves and engage the community. The organization also contributed $20,000 to the Canadian Tamil Medical Association in support of a mental health care initiative with The Scarborough Network. MTC has described plans to broaden its awareness work to the mainstream community and to continue supporting voluntary organizations through financial contributions. Its founders and board members bring experience in business, finance, technology, healthcare, community service, sports, and event management.
