Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) is a non-profit voluntary association that has been providing service, leadership, and extra-curricular opportunities to over 500 member schools since 1916. With a mission to offer educational and leadership experiences, MSHSL organizes interscholastic athletic and fine arts activities for public, private, online, charter, and home schools. Each year, more than 240,000 high school students participate in these activities, making MSHSL one of the top state associations in the nation.

The league also oversees over 8,000 registered contest officials and judges, and provides opportunities for administrators and certification programs for coaches. MSHSL focuses on promoting strong education principles through programs that emphasize sportsmanship, recognition, and scholarships. As a non-profit organization, MSHSL does not rely on state funding.

Instead, its primary revenue comes from state tournament ticket sales, broadcast rights, and corporate partnerships. MSHSL is committed to its founding purposes, which include providing equal opportunities for students, promoting sportsmanship, and protecting students and schools from exploitation. With its belief in the importance of ethical behavior and respect, MSHSL strives to provide education and leadership opportunities that will benefit students for a lifetime
