## Description

MSR is an outdoor equipment brand focused on engineering reliable gear for mountaineers, backpackers, and other wilderness travelers. Founded in 1969 by engineer and climber Larry Penberthy as Mountain Safety Research, the company developed products to address safety challenges in climbing and backcountry travel. Its first stove, introduced in 1973, helped shape the design of liquid-fuel stoves, and the WhisperLite remains a notable product in the range. MSR offers canister stoves, liquid-fuel stoves, and integrated stove systems for camping and backpacking. Featured models include the PocketRocket 2 and PocketRocket Deluxe canister stoves, the Dragonfly and WhisperLite liquid-fuel stoves, and WindBurner systems. The assortment also includes options such as the WindPro II and Switch stove system. Products are presented for priorities including low weight, fast boiling, field maintenance, and performance in windy conditions. The website provides product listings and a full catalog, with free shipping available on some orders. MSR says it continues to develop outdoor equipment from Seattle, with manufacturing facilities in the United States and Ireland.
