Located at the CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology in Chandigarh, MTCC serves researchers, universities, research institutions, and industries by preserving and supplying authentic microbial cultures and providing related technical services. Its collection contains about 12,000 strains, which customers can search in an online catalogue and order for research or industrial use. MTCC offers microbial characterization using classical methods and modern techniques, including MALDI-ToF, Biolog, Vitek, and sequencing. It accepts patent deposits under the Budapest Treaty, as well as safe deposits for strain owners and public deposits available without restrictions. Additional services include freeze-drying, molecular sequencing, MALDI, Vitek analysis, and G+C content testing.
