Microbicide Trials Network (MTN) is a renowned brand that focuses on conducting rigorous evaluations of promising microbicides and dual-purpose products to prevent the sexual transmission of HIV and unintended pregnancy. Established in 2006 by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in collaboration with the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Institute of Mental Health, the MTN brings together international investigators, community partners, and industry experts. With over 25 clinical research sites across four continents, the MTN has successfully conducted studies involving more than 11,000 research participants.

Unlike traditional prevention methods like condoms, microbicides empower users by providing controlled protection. These products directly deliver anti-HIV drugs to potential infection sites, offering an additional option for individuals who may not have access to or prefer alternative methods. The MTN offers a wide array of microbicide products that are currently undergoing various stages of clinical evaluation.
