Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta is committed to providing a well-rounded education through their General Education program. As part of any baccalaureate degree or diploma program at Mount Royal, students will take a collection of General Education courses. These courses are designed to complement their studies in their chosen field and offer a breadth of knowledge in a variety of subject areas.

Known on campus as Gen Ed, these courses are organized into four thematic clusters: Numeracy and Scientific Literacy, Values, Beliefs and Identity, Community and Society, and Communication. Students have the flexibility to choose courses from these clusters based on their interests and schedule. The General Education program at Mount Royal aims to develop important academic skills, such as critical thinking and communication, and provide a solid foundation for future career opportunities.
