## Description

Multatuli.online is the online home of Multatuli Musea, a brand dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Eduard Douwes Dekker, also known as Multatuli. The brand operates two museums, the Multatuli Museum in Amsterdam and the Multatuli Museum in Rangkasbitung, Indonesia.

The Multatuli Museum in Amsterdam is located in the birth house of Eduard Douwes Dekker. It showcases the personal belongings, utensils, and exceptional works of Multatuli, including his famous book "Max Havelaar, or the Coffee Auctions of the Dutch Trading Company" which is considered a significant whistleblowing novel in Dutch literary history. The museum offers guided tours that take visitors through the history of Indonesia during Multatuli's time and provides insights into his complex personal life.

The Multatuli Museum in Rangkasbitung, Indonesia, was opened in 2018 on the exact location where Multatuli experienced the events that inspired his novel "Max Havelaar." The museum explores the influence of colonialism, Multatuli's life, Max Havelaar, as well as the history of the Lebak region, Banten province, and Rangkasbitung. It features a permanent collection and hosts various temporary exhibitions and events.

Both museums aim to educate and engage visitors with the impact of Multatuli's work and the historical contexts in which he lived. For more information and updates on opening hours, programs, exhibitions, and guided tours, visit the official website of Multatuli Musea.
