## Description

Munich Spatzen e. V. is a flag football club based in Munich, Germany, specializing in the five-a-side, non-contact version of American football. The club competes in the German 5er DFFL, where mixed-gender teams play for the national championship. In 2024, the Munich Spatzen won their first German championship, defeating reigning champions Walldorf Wanderers 27–20 in the final. The club also fields the Munich Sparrows and Munich Sparrows II, alongside women’s and youth teams, including Spatzen U19 and U16. Its youth program gives younger players an opportunity to start playing flag football, with advance registration available when places are limited. In this fast-paced sport, players stop the ball carrier by pulling a flag from their belt; teams score through touchdowns and other scoring plays, with no kicking or punting. The Spatzen have also competed in the European Champions Bowl, finishing fourth in 2022, and were German runners-up that year. The club shares news and media updates through its website and social channels.
