## Description

Murakumo-kan, also known as Næstved Kendo Klub, is a kendo club in Næstved, Denmark, and describes itself as the only kendo club on Zealand outside Copenhagen. The club introduces members to kendo, Japanese fencing rooted in samurai culture. The word kendo means “the way of the sword” and refers both to the martial art and to the philosophy associated with personal development through practice.

Training takes place three times a week and is open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. People interested in trying the sport can attend a free trial session to see whether kendo suits them. The club’s website provides practical information and details about its coaching team and board, alongside an introduction to kendo and contact information.

Murakumo-kan also acknowledges Mapio, a Japanese shop in Copenhagen, as its main sponsor and directs visitors to the sponsor’s webshop. The club can be contacted by email at kendo@murakumo.dk.
