## Description

The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, established in 2007 by the family of the courageous Navy SEAL, honors his legacy through education. Founded by Michael's parents, Dan and Maureen, and his brother John, the foundation reflects Michael's belief that "Education will set you free." Initially offering just one scholarship annually, the foundation has expanded significantly and now supports over 27 scholarships each year for deserving students.

The Foundation is not only dedicated to honoring Michael's life and service but also seeks to commemorate the sacrifices of his SEAL teammates. Funding is primarily sourced from generous donations and proceeds from The Murph Challenge, an inspiring annual fundraiser encouraging participants to take on physical challenges in Michael’s honor.

Through various initiatives, including scholarships and commemorative events, the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity, underscoring the importance of education while preserving the illustrious legacy of LT Michael P. Murphy.
