## Description

Museum Kampa is a modern art museum located in the historic Sovovy Mlýny complex on Prague’s Kampa Island in the Malá Strana district. It cares for the collection assembled by Jan and Meda Mládek, who supported nonconformist Czechoslovak artists while living in exile. The collection is especially notable for its extensive holdings of works by František Kupka, a pioneer of modern abstract painting, alongside art by other significant 20th-century artists from Central and Eastern Europe. The museum’s mission is to preserve modern art and share the historical experiences behind its creation. Visitors can explore a permanent presentation of Kupka’s work and attend regular temporary exhibitions featuring Czech and international artists. Recent exhibitions have included artists such as Toyen, Karel Malich and Andy Warhol. Museum Kampa also offers guided tours, public events, lectures, online programs and creative workshops, with activities designed for schools and wider audiences. Its educational programs accompany exhibitions and provide opportunities to engage more deeply with modern art.
