## Description

The Museum of Making Music is a hands-on museum in Carlsbad, California, and a program of the NAMM Foundation. It explores how musical instruments are made, sold, and played, and how music has influenced American life over the past century. Visitors can explore interactive galleries, pick up a guitar, sit at a drum kit, and try instruments they may never have encountered before. The museum offers online admission tickets, annual memberships with unlimited visits, and docent-led tours for groups of 10 or more, which must be arranged at least two weeks in advance. Its program also includes exhibitions, artifact spotlights, concerts, and other events, such as music activities and special member events. Educational opportunities include school field trips, K–12 curriculum resources, a New Horizons Band, and North Coast Strings. Visitors can plan their visit online, learn about accessibility, or explore ways to support the museum through donations, volunteering, and artifact or instrument contributions.
