## Description

The Swiss Museum Pass is a cultural access programme that offers one year of free admission to more than 500 museums and castles throughout Switzerland. Established in 1996, the Swiss Museum Pass Foundation was founded with the Federal Office of Culture, Switzerland Tourism and the Association of Swiss Museums. Its pass options serve individuals, adults with children, and families, making it easier to explore the country’s cultural attractions while saving on entry fees. Customers can also purchase gift vouchers. The organisation helps visitors discover participating institutions through an online museum directory, which highlights destinations such as the National Museum Zurich, Kunstmuseum Bern, Kunstmuseum Basel, Museum of Communication and FIFA Museum. Its website also shares museum news, exhibition recommendations, upcoming events and ideas for excursions. In addition to providing access to museums, the foundation supports cultural engagement through initiatives such as the Swiss Museum Prize and collaborates with museums and partners. The Swiss Museum Pass marks its 30th anniversary in 2026, with a limited-time CHF 30 discount advertised on new passes.
