## Description

The National Museum Soares dos Reis is an art museum whose origins date to 1833, when King Pedro IV established the Museum of Paintings and Prints and Other Fine Arts Objects. Today, it welcomes visitors to explore its collections and discover art through exhibitions, events, and educational activities. The museum presents a permanent exhibition alongside a changing programme, with featured projects spanning subjects such as graphic practices, scale, forests, and the IFC Collection. Visitors can plan their visit through information on opening hours, tickets, and directions, and may arrange a visit to the Fernando de Castro House-Museum in advance. The museum also provides access to information about its collections and national treasures, and offers image licensing and venue hire. Collaborative projects and opportunities to become a museum friend further connect the institution with its community. Through its collections, exhibitions, and visitor services, the National Museum Soares dos Reis offers a varied programme for people interested in art and cultural heritage.
