## Description

Music Assistant is a free, open-source home music system and a project of the Open Home Foundation. It brings streaming services and personal music collections together in one library, so listeners can search, browse, and build playlists across connected sources. Supported options include local files, Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Plex, TuneIn, Pocket Casts, YouTube Music, and Audiobookshelf; availability may depend on individual accounts and subscriptions.

Designed to run on a device at home, Music Assistant lets users control playback from a phone or browser and play music on compatible speakers from different brands. Queues remain on the server, and music can be transferred between rooms or synchronized across supported speaker groups. Audio features include gapless playback, Smart Fades, volume leveling, and speaker-aware adjustments.

The system also integrates with Home Assistant for voice control, automations, and announcements. Additional features include playlist transfer and synchronization, discovery tools, smart playlists, similar-song suggestions, and plugins such as Party mode, Music Quiz, lyrics, and AI Radio.
