## Description

Mutua Matheka is a Nairobi-based travel and architectural photographer whose work explores African cities through art, culture, and commissioned photography. A Ford Foundation fellow, Matheka brings a visual perspective shaped by places across Kenya and beyond, with featured destinations including Nairobi, Lamu, Laikipia, Johannesburg, Dubai, New York, Paris, Iceland, and Lesotho. The portfolio spans travel, architecture, and conceptual work, presented through galleries and visual projects such as “NYC Home Gallery,” “Africa Gallery,” and “Lake Natron.”

Matheka is available for editorial, commercial, and cultural assignments worldwide, working with clients on imagery that captures places, built environments, and their cultural character. The website also features writings and wallpaper, alongside Soko, an online shop. Based in Kenya, the practice operates from Nairobi and welcomes enquiries through its contact details. With an international range of subjects and a focus on African urban environments, Mutua Matheka’s brand connects photography, place, and visual storytelling for audiences, publications, and organisations seeking distinctive commissioned work.
