## Description

Military Veterans in Journalism (MVJ) is a brand dedicated to addressing the underrepresentation of military veterans in America's newsrooms. With over 18 years of continuous warfare resulting in significant casualties and billions of dollars spent, MVJ aims to bridge the gap between the military community and the media industry. While approximately 7 percent of Americans have served in the armed forces, U.S. Census data reveals that only 2 percent of media workers are military veterans. MVJ recognizes the unique perspective and firsthand experience that veterans bring to journalism. Their insights and understanding of the military and veteran affairs greatly benefit newsrooms and news consumers alike. As a proud member of the Institute for Nonprofit News, MVJ is committed to amplifying the voices of veterans through various programs and initiatives. Their website offers resources for veterans interested in pursuing a career in journalism, along with opportunities to get involved and make a difference. By providing a platform for veterans to share their stories and perspectives, MVJ strives to create a more inclusive and diverse media landscape. Connect with MVJ on social media and stay updated on their impactful work in bringing military veterans into journalism.
