## Description

The Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) is a premier low-frequency radio telescope, operational since 2013, and is a key precursor to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project. Located at the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory in Western Australia, the MWA is constructed and operated by an international consortium of over 250 astronomers from 26 partner institutions across Australia, Japan, China, the U.S., Canada, and Switzerland. Its mission is to advance our understanding of the universe, spanning from the study of our ionosphere and solar emissions to distant pulsars and galaxies, and even observations linked to the Big Bang.

The MWA features a sophisticated array of antennas that have undergone substantial upgrades to enhance sensitivity and resolution. It also boasts a robust data archiving system, thanks to the All-Sky Virtual Observatory (ASVO), enabling global researchers easy access to its extensive astronomical datasets. Through continuous innovation and collaborative research, the MWA remains at the forefront of radio astronomy, poised to tackle exciting scientific challenges related to cosmic phenomena.
