## Description

**Brand Description: My Aunt the WAC**

My Aunt the WAC is a heartfelt blog created by Sheryl Lazarus, dedicated to sharing the inspiring story of her great-aunt, Marian Solomon. Through the discovery of Marian's handwritten cookbook and Women’s Army Corps (WAC) memorabilia in her family attic, Sheryl brings to light the life of a remarkable woman who joined the WACs during World War II at the age of 45. Marian's journey showcases her resilience and reinvention, as she balanced caring for her family on a central Pennsylvania farm with her significant contributions to the military, serving for nearly two decades.

This blog not only recounts Marian's adventures but also explores the broader context of the WACs and the transformative era in which she lived. In addition to Marian’s story, Sheryl shares her own experiences from her previous family history project, "A Hundred Years Ago." Join Sheryl as she embarks on a journey of research and storytelling that honors the past while inspiring the present.
