## Description

My Basic Homestead is a homesteading and food-preservation resource created by Ashlie, a stage IV breast cancer survivor who shares her passion for cooking from scratch, preserving food, and finding ways to live a more toxin-conscious life. The site welcomes both experienced homesteaders and beginners, offering practical ideas for making the most of garden harvests and grocery-store finds. Its content includes water bath and pressure canning recipes, meals in jars, freezer meals, baking, dehydrating and freeze-drying tips, and resources on natural living. Visitors can browse recent recipes, including pepper relish, lemonade concentrate, and cowboy candy barbecue sauce. My Basic Homestead also sells Preserving The Summer, a digital cookbook featuring 26 canning recipes for produce such as zucchini, strawberries, and pickles, with recipes designed for a water bath canner. Free resources include a processing-times and elevation chart covering more than 40 canning ingredients. The site’s recommendations also point visitors to pantry essentials, canning supplies, kitchen gadgets, and low-tox and non-tox products.
