Grizzly Youth Academy is a transformative program aimed at intervening in and reclaiming the lives of high school dropouts aged 16-18. In partnership with the California National Guard and the Grizzly Challenge Charter School, Grizzly Youth Academy provides a highly-structured environment for youth who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of doing so. At Grizzly Youth Academy, cadets are immersed in a quasi-military structure that fosters leadership, cooperation, and academic skills.

The program focuses on building self-esteem, pride, and confidence in its participants. Cadets experience a range of activities including team building, daily schooling, practicing healthy choices, and participating in various extracurricular activities. They also receive the necessary support to turn their lives around.

This voluntary program consists of a 22-week residential phase and a 12-month post-residential phase. Families incur no costs as tuition, room and board, and books are provided. Basic essential items are required, but the rest is supplied.
