## Description

Cultivating Happiness is a well-being brand created by Sanjiv Sahay, a Silicon Valley technology entrepreneur and engineer who has studied happiness research for more than 25 years and practiced meditation for over 30. Its central offering is the book Cultivating Happiness: Everyday Habits, Deep Practices, and the Science of Lasting Well-Being. The book brings together contemporary well-being science and longstanding wisdom traditions in a practical framework for building and protecting happiness.

Its 29 chapters cover four connected areas: foundations such as sleep, movement, food, financial security, and optimism; long-term mental practices including mindfulness, gratitude, acceptance, and forgiveness; everyday sources of well-being such as meaningful goals, close relationships, giving, learning, nature, and purposeful work; and ways to reduce common drains, including loneliness, comparison, clutter, and harmful relationships.

A free companion app supports readers with a well-being baseline assessment, practice tracking, meditation timing, and a follow-up assessment after 90 days. Cultivating Happiness also provides free resources and information about the book and its teachings.
