## Description

The Society of Myles Standish Descendants (SMSD) is a dedicated organization formed to honor Captain Myles Standish, a prominent passenger of the Mayflower and a pivotal figure in early American history. Established by descendants and history enthusiasts, the society focuses on preserving the legacy of the Pilgrims who laid the foundations of the nation. SMSD aims to publish genealogical records, facilitate the sharing of ancestral pride, and foster community among its members. It provides a welcoming space for individuals connected through their lineage to Standish, promoting personal and social ties within the network. As a proud member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, SMSD encourages participation in various Mayflower descendant societies, ensuring extended connections to the broader Pilgrim family. Activities include newsletters, merchandise offerings, events, and genealogy resources, along with an active online presence through social platforms like "The Standish Connection" on Facebook. Join SMSD to celebrate the history and camaraderie of this distinguished lineage.
