Founded by Karyn Honsch-Wilson, a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, the service helps children and adults build confidence, independence and community participation through safer, more accessible travel. Karyn brings more than 25 years of experience in the disability field and has worked with the blind and low-vision community for the past decade. Services are tailored to each person’s goals and include mobility-aid assessments and recommendations, long-cane skills, route planning, independent navigation and travel training in familiar or new environments. Support also covers road crossing, public transport, indoor and outdoor travel, orientation strategies for home, school or work, neurological vision scanning, and human-guide training for family, friends and colleagues. The service can advise on environmental accessibility and safe mobility with a four-wheeled walker, with regional support available by request.
