About
Description
Norris Square Neighborhood Project (NSNP) is a community-based organization located in Philadelphia, PA. Their mission is to empower and uplift the local community through various programs and initiatives. With a rich history and a dedicated staff and board, NSNP offers a wide range of youth programs, including Semillas del Futuro and Raíces de Cambio, aimed at nurturing young talent and fostering personal growth.
One of the notable projects by NSNP is their collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia (MAP) to create a new mural celebrating the women of Grupo Motivos, who played a crucial role in establishing the NSNP gardens. This mural, known as the Wall of Heroes, pays tribute to their legacy and contributions. In addition to their youth programs, NSNP also manages community gardens, such as Las Parcelas, and operates a community farm stand.
They offer rentals and tours of these gardens, providing opportunities for people to explore and connect with nature. To further engage the community, NSNP hosts various events and exhibitions, such as the upcoming NSNP Exhibition at Cherry Street Pier. They also actively participate in initiatives like The Kids’ Campaign, advocating for the voices of Philadelphia youth and striving for a safer city.
Stay connected with NSNP by signing up for their newsletter and join their volunteer program to make a positive impact in the Norris Square neighborhood and beyond
