## Description

The Aachener Stiftung Kathy Beys is the visionary force behind the R.I.O. Economy and the Sustainability Encyclopedia. Established in 2001, this foundation aimed to educate the public on sustainability, long before it became a mainstream concept. The Sustainability Encyclopedia, launched in 2002, quickly became a go-to online resource, with millions of pages being accessed. Over the years, it served as a valuable platform for research and learning on topics like environment, economy, social issues, and more.

Although the Encyclopedia has transitioned to a new caretaker in 2016, its legacy lives on as a historical reference. Its impact on raising awareness about sustainable development is undeniable, with one in ten Germans having benefited from its wealth of information. This enduring demand from the education sector led the foundation to maintain it online as a valuable historical archive. Explore the rich history and knowledge within the Sustainability Encyclopedia to learn more about building a sustainable future.
