## Description

The Native American Fish and Wildlife Society (NAFWS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports Native American and Alaska Native Tribes in conserving, protecting, and enhancing their fish and wildlife resources. It connects tribal, federal, and state management entities through a national network spanning seven regions. Since 2023, the Society reports serving 451 federally recognized Tribes, with 893 individual members and 227 supporting member Tribes.

NAFWS provides information and opportunities that help members advance Tribal management priorities, including legislative, technical, economic, legal, fiscal, and enforcement programs. Its initiatives address climate adaptation, invasive species, Tribal conservation funding and law enforcement, habitat connectivity, education, wildlife health, and capacity building. The Society also offers conferences, regional gatherings, training and workshops, working groups, committees, and learning resources, alongside job and funding information. Newsletters and Tribal highlights share updates, publications, and examples of conservation work. Through membership, donations, and sponsorships, supporters can contribute to Indigenous-led conservation, cultural preservation, and the development of future American Indian and Alaska Native environmental stewards.
