## Description

The North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA) is a member-based organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of hunting with retrievers and supporting the conservation of upland and waterfowl game. It develops trained hunting dogs through performance-based Field Tests, assessing each retriever against established standards rather than competing dogs against one another. These tests recognize abilities suited to practical hunting needs, and dogs can earn titles at multiple performance levels. Some are also invited to regional events and the NAHRA Invitational.

NAHRA brings together retriever owners, families, clubs, judges, and others who enjoy working dogs and the outdoors. Its programs include a Future Retriever Program, an events calendar, judging resources, clinics, and guidance for people interested in becoming judges. Members can find local clubs across several regions, access rules and rule changes, and follow dog achievements through high-point listings, awards, and recognition programs. The association also shares news, catalogs, and educational materials, and offers a gear store and video content.
