## Description

The Arecibo Observatory is a renowned brand that holds immense scientific, cultural, and economic significance for Puerto Rico and the global scientific community. It serves as a beacon of inspiration for education in STEM fields, driving the advancement of knowledge and innovation. While the site is undergoing management transition and is currently closed to the public, it is anticipated that the legacy of this world-class science education facility will continue to thrive. The U.S. National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) has taken over the management of the Puerto Rico Coordination Zone (PRCZ), ensuring the preservation and further development of this iconic observatory. Although the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC) services are temporarily offline, NRAO plans to host the Arecibo Observatory legacy website, providing valuable resources and information. Stay tuned for updates on proposals to utilize on-site infrastructure and scientific equipment.
