## Description

Nalu Books is an independent bookstore owned by Kanaka ʻŌiwi and wahine, with a mission to uplift literature by, about, and from Hawaiʻi, Pasifika, and Asia while celebrating BIPOC and queer voices. Its carefully organized collection invites readers of different ages and interests to discover stories that are often underrepresented. The online shop offers books for children and young adults, fiction, nonfiction, fantasy and science fiction, romance, graphic novels and manga, poetry, short stories, workbooks, and activity books. Shoppers can browse dedicated selections featuring Hawaiʻi, Oceania, Pasifika, Asian, and BIPOC stories, as well as LGBTQ2S+ titles and pre-loved books. Nalu Books also provides secular home education resources from a Kanaka perspective, including unit studies, and shares homeschool-related information and trusted voices through its website. Alongside its bookstore and educational offerings, the brand publishes blog posts about community, Hawaiian history, culture, and the Pacific. Nalu Books brings reading, learning, and culturally grounded perspectives together in one welcoming resource.
