## Description

Nanaimo Astronomy is a nonprofit society run by volunteers who share an interest in astronomy. Its welcoming motto, “Astronomy for Everyone,” reflects an open invitation to anyone interested in learning about or enjoying the night sky. The society offers opportunities to connect through events, membership, and public outreach, bringing astronomy to both members and the wider community.

Its activities include public and member observing events, such as a scheduled gathering at Pipers Lagoon. Visitors can check the society’s event listings and join its mailing list to hear about future activities. Nanaimo Astronomy also provides information about current local sky conditions, helping people assess whether the night may be suitable for viewing; the site notes that more blue boxes on its chart indicate better nighttime viewing conditions.

The organization supports participation with volunteer resources and shares images through its gallery. People interested in getting involved can learn about the society, its board of directors, and how to join.
