## Description

The Japan Patients Association (JPA) is a national organization bringing together patient groups and regional associations representing people with intractable, long-term chronic, and pediatric chronic diseases, as well as their families. Guided by the principle that human dignity must come first, JPA works toward a society where people can live with security and without barriers caused by illness or disability.

Its activities include connecting patients and families, raising public awareness, and advocating to government through petitions to the National Diet and policy requests. JPA also provides individual consultation opportunities for people affected by intractable and chronic diseases, and offers training through its patient support program. The organization promotes international cooperation among patient groups and shares information through publications, news, events, and awareness campaigns, including activities marking Intractable Disease Day.

JPA supports the work of its member organizations and invites public cooperation through donations, supporter and associate membership programs, and other fundraising initiatives.
