## Description

Napier Boxing is a community-focused boxing and fitness gym in Taradale, serving people with a range of goals, ages and experience levels. Established in the early 1990s at Napier Boys’ High School, the gym has grown from a small training space into a club that supports fitness, confidence and competitive boxing. Its coaches provide guidance in a welcoming environment for people from different walks of life.

The gym offers four main pathways. Boxfit combines high-energy group sessions with one-on-one conditioning circuits for those seeking to improve their fitness. Boxing classes teach technique and build confidence, with a route into competitive training for those interested in fighting. Competitive boxing sessions are for amateur and professional boxers who are competing or preparing to begin a fighting career. Youth classes help participants aged 11 and up develop discipline and respect while having fun and getting fit. General boxing classes are described as suitable for ages 14 and up, with no experience required.
