## Description

North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO) is an international organization that was established in 1984 with the aim of conserving, restoring, enhancing, and rationally managing Atlantic salmon through international cooperation. NASCO operates based on the best available scientific information. NASCO hosts annual meetings and provides a platform for discussions and decision-making regarding the conservation of wild Atlantic salmon. They also produce resolutions, agreements, and guidelines to guide the management of salmon fisheries. NASCO plays a crucial role in protecting the habitat of salmon and promoting sustainable fishing practices. In addition, NASCO is actively involved in scientific research related to Atlantic salmon and collaborates with various stakeholders, including accredited NGOs, to address the challenges facing this iconic species. Their efforts are strengthened by the support of the International Atlantic Salmon Research Board and the European Union. For those passionate about salmon conservation and restoration, NASCO offers opportunities for involvement, as well as access to valuable resources and information through their website and membership programs.
